What is picture description? When you look at a picture and write sentences about what you see, it is called picture description (or picture composition).
You do not need to tell a long story. Just look carefully and write 4 to 5 simple sentences about the picture.
Picture description helps you practise writing, using new words, and thinking clearly.
Step 1: Look carefully. Spend a moment looking at the whole picture before you start writing.
Step 2: Ask yourself these questions:
Step 3: Write simple, complete sentences. Start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
Step 4: Use adjectives (describing words) to make your sentences interesting.
Think: Instead of "I see a dog," write "I see a small brown dog." The words "small" and "brown" are adjectives that make the sentence better.
