What Is Gender?

Gender tells us whether a noun is male or female.

A noun that tells us about a male person or animal is called a masculine noun.

A noun that tells us about a female person or animal is called a feminine noun.

Masculine words: boy, king, lion, brother, uncle, cock, bull

Feminine words: girl, queen, lioness, sister, aunt, hen, cow
