Let Us Begin!

Imagine your friend asks, "Which bag is yours?" You say, "The red bag" or "The big bag." The words red and big help describe your bag. They tell us more about the noun.

These special words that describe nouns are called adjectives. They make our sentences colourful and clear. Let us learn how to use them!

What Is an Adjective?

An adjective is a word that describes a noun. It tells us more about a person, place, animal, or thing.

Without adjective: "I have a ball." -- Which ball?

With adjective: "I have a round, red ball." -- Now we know!

Adjectives answer questions like: What kind? Which one? How many? What colour? What size?

Think about it: "I saw a flower" and "I saw a beautiful yellow flower." Which sentence gives you a better picture in your mind?
